A practical inquiry into experience, interpretation and actuality.Learn to look closely at what is present before thought turns it into world, body, self, problem and life.

About The Actuality Inquiry

The Actuality Inquiry is a guided way of looking closely at experience before the mind explains it. It asks a few simple questions: what seems to be here, what is actually present, what is being supplied by thought, memory, naming or expectation, and does what is present really resolve into the thing assumed?
This is not about denying the world, the body, the self or ordinary life. It is not about adopting a new belief or entering a special spiritual state. It is a practical inquiry into how experience becomes interpreted as world, time, space, body, self, problem and life.
The work is inspired by Peter Brown’s yoga of radiant presence, but it uses plain, direct language. The aim is simple: to recognise interpretation as interpretation, and to discover the vivid, immediate, unresolvable actuality of what is here.Every inquiry begins by pausing and feeling what is here. Then we bring something ordinary into view: a cup, a sound, a memory, a future event, a bodily sensation, a choice, a problem, or the sense of “me”. We look closely. We check what is actually present. And when certainty loosens, we linger. The point is not to reduce experience. The point is to release experience from the dullness of being already known.

HOW TO JOIN IN

A gentle path into presence-based companionship1. Start with the Foundation Workshop
The first step is joining the WithAnother Foundation Workshop—a 6-session online experience (90 minutes per session) where you’ll learn the basics of listening partnership, practise in pairs, and feel into whether this way of being with another suits you.
There’s no pressure. No performance. Just spacious guidance, real contact, and time to discover the practice together.2. Practise in Pairs (During the Workshop)
Throughout the workshop, you’ll spend time practising in real listening partnerships—taking turns to speak and to listen, gently supported by clear guidelines.
By the end, you’ll know how it feels to be with another human in presence, without pressure to fix, advise, or explain.3. Enter the Partner Pool
After the workshop, you’re invited into the WithAnother Partner Pool—a private online space where you can ask for or offer new listening partnerships. You go at your own pace, and the space remains open whenever you feel ready.
It’s not a feed. It’s not a forum. It’s simply a quiet, mutual ground for shared practice.4. Continue in Partnership
You choose how often to meet, how long your sessions are, and who you partner with. Some people partner weekly. Others more occasionally. Some stick with one partner. Others meet new people over time.
All of it is welcome—what matters most is that it's mutual, respectful, and rooted in presence.Questions?
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to speak with someone before joining. This space is built for people who feel things deeply—and we’re here to support you.
